A very successful “Gamify Your Teaching” Greek multiplier event was held by KMOP (Family and Childcare Centre), on Friday, June 23rd, at Technopolis, Thessaloniki.

The Gamify Your Teaching project and its intellectual outputs were presented to no less than 50 participants. The Needs Analysis, the creation of the Online Game, the Didactic Material as well as the Case Studies were analyzed step by step and the coordinators covered all relevant questions made. A demonstration of the game took place in the end of the presentation, motivating participants to sign in and play the Gamify your Teaching online game later on.

The speakers at the event included:

  • Tassos Tzikas, president of the Federation of Hellenic ICT Enterprises, of the Thessaloniki Technopolis and of TIF – HELEXPO organization,
  • Evtixios Sartzetakis, Deputy Dean of the University of Macedonia and professor of Applied Game Theory in Environment and
  • Constantinos Stiliaras, Research and Documentation Analyst from the Federation of Industries of Northern Greece


All speakers agreed on the importance of technology in terms of education. Mr. Tzikas mentioned that “for the next 5 years, what Greece will need is a technological shock, technological solutions everywhere”. Mr. Sartzetakis pointed out that “Young people wish for a dynamic environment that provides them with motives to learn and they find that specific characteristic in online games”. Finally, Mr. Stiliaras stressed how effective and determining such innovative tools can be, compared to classic teaching methods.
